Letter to Past Self

Julia, I feel such an ache in my heart knowing that you do not believe you are worthy as you are. If I desire to tell you anything, I want to say that you don’t need to go extra miles to be loved. Love is not something you have to earn. You are worthy of love because you exist. I want you to trust your instinct and to follow your heart always — your vulnerability is not and will never be a weakness. Follow all of your creative desires, never abandon your dreams to please the people closest to you. You don’t need to bleach your hair blonde, be accepted socially by everyone, post the “perfect” pictures, put on a mask. To do that is to cover up what makes you truly beautiful. I love you and will try to do everything in my power to honor your heart in everything that I do.
